Many years to go but I’m on my way so far. I’m a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University and am majoring in Neuroscience (and Latin American Studies), so far so good. Done some research, will do more (looking for another lab since my last lab invovled testing rats for alzheimers using a water maze and advanced computer program. Cool, yes, but I didn’t feel the team nor the advisor were a good match for what I was looking for)...will stay well rounded and get into a good med school…then it’s off to find a good place to do my residency…many, MANY years later…ta-da…me the neurosurgeon!

Have you learned anything interesting about the brain? I was thinking of donating mine to science. What could I get for it? Say, like, tonight?
You go, girl!
Neurosurgery is a very, very vicious and competitive field for women. Good luck with your job!
