I went to a place about an hour north of Reykjavik where a woman was working with wool. She was spinning on a wheel in between tending to customers in her shop, I was spinning on my spindle. When there was a lull in customers she showed me her carding combs and taught me how to use them. I carded a bit of brown wool and a bit of grey, spun both, and then plyed them together. Nice to have a ball of yarn in which I completed so many steps of the wool-process myself. It’s beautiful, but too small to make much of anything with …
