Go to World Youth Day (read all 3 entries…)
Change of mind. 17 months ago

I’ve decided not to go. Why?
Well, I’m not Catholic, I’m Protestant and I don’t subscribe to a number of their beliefs and doctrines. Also, it is absolutely congested in the city with over 250,000 pilgrims frolicking about. I may attend the Final Mass on Sunday but otherwise, I think I’m better off just attending church as I would do any other Sunday. Anyway, the Pope sort of looks like a sith. I don’t understand what the big deal is, the Pope is just a regular human being like the other six billion people that populate this earth. I personally do not view him as God’s vessel to all Christians.

I think you should go!

Whether Catholic or not (I’m not Catholic either) I think you should go. I can tell by reading your entries that you are a sponge soaking up knowledge and experiences. I didn’t really care for all of the musicians that performed at Woodstock, but I sure wish I had been there! (Have I totally dated myself, there? Hope you don’t have to google that!!) This may be one of those once in a lifetime opportunities that you’ll regret not having done. If you regret going you won’t have wasted more than a little time. Always be willing to open your mind and you’ll gain understanding. Plus it’ll be a spectacle the likes of which you’ve probably never seen, and I’d love to hear your report on the people watching if nothing else! Just my old guy, protestant, rambling thoughts!!
