Well a few weeks ago my mom found two puppies that had been abandoned. I took them in and they’ve been living with me for 3 weeks now! They’re amazing puppies. Their names are Teton (the little girl) & Tahoe (the little boy). They are now almost 9 weeks old! Very sweet & loving, but just needed a good home. They have given me so much happiness & company & comfort. I can’t believe someone abandoned them like that! Two puppies is a lot of work, and one would be too. But I couldn’t separate them & really, two isn’t much more work and twice the fun! I highly recommend adopting a dog. Dogs rule. :)

I love the picture – they’re both so adorable! I’m sure they are a handful, though = )
They're work, but not near as much as you'd expect, and...
Every bit worth it. Every single bit worth it!!! Each little smile, lick, kiss and cuddle they give me makes up for whatever bottoms of theirs I have to wipe or whenever I have to get up in the middle of the night to take them out to potty (though that hasn’t happened in weeks lately). Lately there aren’t any problems in the last week or two. Just keep them on their schedule, keep em pottied, fed & played with and they are good to go! Just like humans. I use this AA thing my dad taught me called “HALT”. “Never let yourself get “H”ungry. “A”ngry. “L”onely. or “T”ired. And I try to just apply that to the pups & it works. Raising puppies is just common sense really. And the book “Puppies for Dummies” is a Godsend!!! BUY IT about a month before you adopt your little one please. It’ll help you prepare & be a near perfect pet parent! Makes training a breeze. Let me know when you do adopt! I can probably help with some tips. :)

It’s actually ridiculous that my husband and I don’t have dogs yet. We’re both very involved with animals and I’m even on the board of our local humane society. We bought a house in April and are just waiting for the perfect dogs/puppies to come through the door. We know how to train, how to teach, how to do all of that good stuff, we just haven’t put it into practice on our own little ones yet. I LOVE the H.A.L.T. thing though. That’s a great philosophy to have about puppies and life in general! I will probably check out “Puppies for Dummies” so I can recommend it to adopters who might benefit from a little reading = )
Enjoy your little ones, and give them an extra little cuddle from me!
