wrist injury = suck  — 1 month ago

I hurt my wrist about a month ago in the gym. It does not seem to want to heal. I’ve seen a chiropractor and my primary care physician. The x-rays weren’t conclusive but I don’t think I have a fracture. One prognosis is that it may take time to heal. It’s already been over 4 weeks :(

Tomorrow I start my clinic shifts. If my wrist starts giving me pain I hope that I’ll be able to rest it.

lingering injuries

Just give it time, ducklin.

When I started playing softball a few months ago, my thumb starting absolutely killing me. It was grossly black & blue; it was tough to even type and there was no way to hold a pencil, and I thought for sure it was seriously injured. It totally healed eventually, but it took an entire month.

Last year, I busted my ankle good, and even that healed up eventually. Be diligent about rehab if you’re worried about it, and you’ll be fine.

But definitely treat it with care until it feels right.

almost healed

The wrist has been healing slowly. It isn’t at 100% and I definitely notice this injury when I try to lift with the right wrist.

I guess a powerful lesson here is to learn to listen to your body. Avoiding injury is way more valuable than healing an injury.

I also got a bill for the x-rays. After insurance I still owe about $250. :(
