until I hit Day 30 without fried food. And that will be about 70 days without burgers or fries. I’m looking forward to crossing this one off my liset.

This is a wonderful accomplishment. How do you feel physically and financially? You are a wonderful inspiration of conviction!
Thank you
I do feel a little better physically (especially the ole digestive system). And that is enough to make me want to continue to leave these foods out of my diet. Not to mention what I know they were doing to my arteries and waistline.
As for financially it hasn’t really made much of a difference there – yet. I still grab food “out” as often as before but am making better choices.

Hey
thats super. How do you think that will change your eating habits now that the goal will be over??
Thanks
It seems doable enough that I’m planning to keep going with the “no burgers or fried foods” rule in my diet. To keep from feeling deprived I will allow myself something on the forbidden list once a month. I’m still deciding what other changes to make to my diet next.
I may try a food diary to track my eating so I can reveal the biggest issues.
You’ve been doing very well on tracking your food. Was it hard to get started? When I’ve intended to do that in the past I kept forgetting. I suppose it’s one of those things that once you have the habit it will be easy.

I do it
mostly because I have to. Don’t be surprised if those fast foods now give you some GI distress, as you aren’t used to them any more.
As far as tracking. i just write it in my calendar. It is easy for me because I have meal requirements so I have to pretty much plan it out. I know for each meal I eat carb, protien fat and calcium….I guess if I ate on the side or something it would be harder.
You might try Nutridiary or fitday or the daily plate for tracking…
Thanks
Yes, I know what you mean about GI distress. I have a touch of IBS and my system is very happy I’m eating better.
I just got a new weight loss book based on cognitive therapy. If I decide to follow some of the suggestions in there I will need to plan all my meals and then track whether I follow the plan. I get distracted so easily I’m not sure if I can stick to it, but I might give it a try. I think part of my psyche is rebelling against so much structure in eating. I’m having empathy for you. :)
By the way I love your new avatar! Very pretty.
