So I walk in to work today and on the table in the break room is (and I’m not exaggerating) muffins from dunking doughnuts, a giant chocolate oreo cake, granola, pb chocolate bars, caramel rice cakes, breadsticks, pb crackers, peanut brittle, trail mix, a note saying there’s key lime frozen yogurt in the fridge, and a bowl full of candies and chocolates. I was like, wow, what a great day to start my cleanse, right? But after sitting there, fantasizing about the diabetic coma I could induce on myself, I realized how empty and unsatisfied I would have felt had I eaten that junk. I praised myself for being so self-aware and focused, and contentedly sipped on my slightly too spicy lemonade. Other than that, my day was great. Day 1 is always fairly easy, no hunger, no toxins doing anything significant. Now I’m off to make my tea, cuddle up with a book and call it a day.
