Bill is flying to DC today oh, hi. Did you miss me?

See "An Inconvenient Truth"
I did see this movie. 17 months ago

the big question remains, if we don’t get everyone to do something about it (assuming ‘doing something’ OTHER than reducing the world’s population by 90 percent will make a difference) ... assuming we can’t get EVERYONE to do something, does it make sense or seem fair to have the United States and Europe bear the burden by taxing the carbon dioxide producers (you and me as consumers of those products) out of business?

That’s the question. At least that’s my question.

I think it's ONE question.

There are others.

I haven’t seen the movie and likely won’t, so let me ask you something. Two somethings.

First, it the gist of it what I believe it to be…that we, humans, are largely responsible for global warming?

And two, in the film is there a discussion of how the former ice ages ended? Apparently we had global warming then, too…when no humans were alive to cause it.

the big difference now is...

that there are a ga-zillion people and we’re making greenhouse gasses like nobody’s business. We need to reduce the earth’s population to about 1/10th of what we have now, or there will be natural disasters that will do it for us.

and don’t be so frigging’ cynical about them earlier ice ages ending. It was a natural cycle, but we’ve upset that balance. THE EARTH IN THE BALANCE.. get it… the title of his other book.

sheesh.. Do I has to esplain it all to you?

Apparently.

I was being a bit ...

boisterous… I’m pretty sure you actually do get it.

My opinion is: people are generating more and more CO2 and other bad things, and that might be making the earth change, but since we can’t stop bad things from happening in Darfur, I doubt the world can get people to stop burning rain forests for cooking heat or oil in their old red cars.

It’s not like there is a world policeman who can tell people what to do.

Well, there SHOULD be.

Besides, this give Al Gore a chance to make more billions of dollars, always a good thing.
