While I took time off from college. I worked on the loading dock, with 4 other women, most of the drivers knew us, but you should have seen the look on the faces of the new guys, 6’ truckers trying to give me tips on how to use a dolly. My job was to return the textbooks.

Anyway, I loved it. Everyone was very well-read, and fun, being on the loading dock meant we had some freedom from the suits above (could hear them coming in their heels), and could blast music. Downside(?): ended up spending most of my income on books.
