Eating with other people generally means I’m eating something more enjoyable & no doubt more nutritious than what I eat when I make my own meals (using the term “meals” rather loosely).
And conversation while eating makes the food go down better, somehow.

I really hate eating meals alone.
(unless I’m reading a book in the sun while downing a sandwich. leave me alone then. but that isn’t the same as eating a meal)
calypte working on: less 'pooter, more potter!
It’s embarassing if you dribble, otherwise ;)
Seriously, I just find it awkward trying to eat and hold a conversation at the same time.

eating with someone, oh gawd! I reconnected w/a girl from high school after our 10 year reunion. I told her there that I’d always had a crush on her – and she actually asked me to lunch! I met her at a deli she’d picked out.
Afraid to eat a meat sandwich, for fear one of those big slices of meat would come slapping down onto my chin, I went with a vegetarian sandwich. BIG MISTAKE! Wrestling with a slice of turkey would have been WAY easier than trying to keep all those dammed bean sprouts out of my teeth!
Shoulda done my research first!
Didja get laid?

I don’t think it was due to the sprouts, either. She was talking about marriage somewhat intensely, & I wasn’t chiming in with any enthusiasm. Neither of us called each other again.
on my mood.
Sometimes, I’ll make something great that’s worth eating by myself.
But one of my favorite things to do is eat dinner in my friend’s bedroom while talking about useless things.

to a friend of mine, who counted it as a personal victory when, at a church outdoor potluck, she made a woman laugh so hard she threw up!
Sick, yes, but it must have been a pretty funny line!

To think that I was embarrassed when the melon bits came through my nose last summer! (I’m not 9 anymore, for fuck’s sake!)

be justifiably embarrassed about melon bits coming out your nose!! :D
Did everything smell like rancid melon for the next week or so?
tangerine_now it's me! it's me!
But it was a bit of a suprise, I can tell you. It made me laugh again but this time without the melon. Luckily only my man saw that and he’s seen worse from me.
jess_ said what she needed to and hope some good comes of it
I like to eat with other people if the company is good and I am comfortable with them – I don’t really like eating in front of people I don’t know. And I am probably going to eat considerably less if I am eating with others.

For a quiet evening, I can make my noodles and be happy. Then I also eat less.
However, sharing a good long meal with people is one of my favourite pastimes when it comes to spending an evening. It is the perfect opportunity to get into some real conversations without the embarrassment of the occasional dip in the conversation or anything. Also, you (I) don’t drink wine with the meal when I’m by myself. Another plus of eating together.

I like eating alone, and I like eating with people. I like eating.
But it’s annoying when you’re eating and whoever you’re with isn’t.

as long as im not the only one eating then i prefer with others. Just to get a bit of a convo going lol
roxy is ready for another great day!
Im equally comfortable doing both. Sometimes I just need time to myself to unwind while eating other times, the company is what makes the meal great!
Funtash votes today - but not for Harper.
Can’t stand eating with people, unless I’m very comfortable with them.
I will go to restaurants alone- better to read, and I love having dinner parties both at my house, and in a restaurant.
