It’s not enough to be praised—great reputations are tiresome. I want to be a doer, and leave the talking to others.

If I can make my friends my teachers, I can blend learning and pleasant conversation. To avoid the praise of amateurs and see my talents grow, I envision a loose academy of artists, based on mutual respect, discretion, and wisdom.
