lose weight (read all 29 entries…)
I've been trying to....... 17 months ago

psyche myself up mentally to get back on the horse. I weighed myself the other day and it was not as frightening as I thought it would be. I feel like I gained back about 30 # but I’ve actually gained back 10 since 2 months ago. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad amount for 2 months but like I said I was sure I had gained far more.

Anyway, I’m working on getting myself psyched up. Those ads for “lose 20# by summer” have never fazed me because I’ve always had far more to lose in order to look good for any summer. Let me know when they come out with an ad that says “lose 150# for summer of 2010”. Then I might be motivated.

Be the shape you want to be by summer 2010

Imagine yourself feeling vibrantly healthy and energetic, smiling as you look at the reflection in the mirror – your own body the shape you want it to be. Summer 2010 is almost here and you are so excited to have achieved that goal already.
You have learned to really enjoy fresh nutritious natural foods. You really understand your body’s needs and you lovingly feed it healthy nutritious foods. With all that energy you now love vigorous activities that are so much fun.

No this is not an advertisement by one of those weight loss businesses or food manufacturers that are more interested in their own profits than in your health. It is what you will experience when you stop being misled my by the media, books, magazines, popular opinions and these businesses and manufacturers.

That was incredible

I loved that response. Thank you so much. I keep going back to read it over and over. Thanks again.

Hey thanks

That’s great that you took up that new goal. If you normally eat a lot of junk like I have you will feel so much better about yourself. I just wish the fruits and veggies weren’t so damn expensive. I guess the “you get what you pay for” pertains to food as well. Buy cheap, get cheap (no) nutrients. Pay more, get (loads) more nutrients. Crazy.

Thanks

I find fruit expensive and usually nowhere as good a value as vegetables. I only have a little fruit (except when there are some real bargains available). I do not combine fruit with other foods. I have fruit as a snack.
Fruit and vegetables vary in price throughout the year. They are usually lower priced in season, when they are fresh and have best nutritional properties. Different varieties are in season at different times of the year.
I have more energy when I eat plenty of fresh crisp crunchy juicy raw green vegetables as a snack, or vegetables raw or lightly steamed with other foods as a meal. I am more productive when I enjoy these foods.
