15) The Liar - Stephen Fry  — 1 month ago

Utterly fantastic. I can’t remember the last time a book sent me into a laughing fit (oh wait, I can) or had me so utterly gripped in the same way.

If you haven’t yet discovered the wonders of Mr Fry, I highly recommend you do so. I must warn you though, he is rather thoroughly British and as such some cultural references may be lost on non-British readers. Not to worry though, just skip the chapter explaining (I’m not sure that’s the right word, as I still don’t bloody understand, but I can’t think of another) cricket and you’ll be fine.

Happy reading. :)

Have you read

Making History? It’s my absolute favourite of his books :o)

Not yet

I was looking up the rest of his books last night and Making History was the one that interested me most. I’ve got my eye on a copy on eBay. ;)

Oooh, you have a treat in store!

The last few pages of that book are, in my opinion, the best last-few-pages of almost anything I’ve read. The rest of it’s pretty damn good too, but the last few pages had me literally wriggling with delight and jumping up and down in my seat :o) In fact, I think I may have to re-read it now that you’ve put me in mind of it.
