Monday I had a PSA test and it came back a little over 13, which is moderately elevated. Normal is 4 or less. Doc called me back in this morning for a prostate exam (I’m no longer a backdoor virgin) and a repeat PSA test.
He didn’t find anything when he had his finger you-know-where, and the PSA came back at 10.3, which is good news, though I’m not out of the woods yet. We’ll retest in a month, and if it’s the same, I’ll probably have to have a biopsy. If it’s down some more, they’ll keep monitoring it.
Now I’m just hoping these two tests in my record don’t screw up my ability to get health insurance with the new job. I can still get COBRA benefits through the old job, but those are only for 18 months.
