get the dead trees taken out of my yard (read all 10 entries…)
How serious am I? 4 years ago

Very. My hub offered to get me a diamond for our anniversary next year, and I said . . . yanno, I think I would rather have some of those trees taken out and some of the land cleared.

What am I, nuts???

A diamond...

is nice and has a lot of resale value. It can bring you joy when you see it and appreciate it.

But… a nice back yard to look out to from the kitchen window while having a hot cup a coffee could bring the same amount of joy.

You cannot tinker in a diamond. You can tinker in the back yard. You cannot plant flowers in a diamond. You can plant flowers in the back yard.

The back yard is much more versitile and has many things you can do with it over the years!

No, you’re not nuts.

Thanks, Cathibeth!

You are the voice of reason as usual. :)

Thank you

But… haggle for the trees and the diamond!

The gift that keeps on giving

Chainsaw.

What a great tool. You can use it to limb, prune, and trim a tree you want to keep. You can use it to cut down the tree you want gone. You can use it to cut up the fallen tree into firewood. There’s something magical about the sound of a chainsaw cutting firewood on an early autumn Sunday morning (it does sound better from a distance of a hundred yards or so, you might want to wear hearing protection if you’re operating the saw). Breathe deep and appreciate the aroma of freshly cut wood (you can ignore the smell of gasoline if you want, or get an electric saw).

And they also make great tools for home defense in case some burglar tries to steal your diamonds. :)

Haha . . .

Of course, the husband who gives his wife a chainsaw for their anniversary had better watch his appendages carefully . . .

Let me guess

This was not what you had in mind for an anniversary gift.

Yes yes yes!

Exactly my point, Hippiechick! There’s just something so terribly satisfying about holding all that power in your hands, and being able to affect your environment, and getting some work done.

Did I mention they vibrate like the dickens? :)
