Be successful in my career!
The Better Part

You sleep for a third of every day. You work for more than a third of every day, minus the weekend. If you’re going to dedicate any serious amount of time to something, don’t you think you should do it right?

I sleep, and I do all I can to sleep well. The same goes for work. I love my job, I enjoy what I do. I want to be the best at what I do. I’ll study more, learn more, try harder, and invest myself as completely as possible during the hours I’m at work. Doing this will bring me the satisfaction of knowing that I’m not wasting my time or talent.

That is so very inspiring, thank you!

I agree. I also love my job but the demands of my job have consumed two thirds of my life. How do you make sure that your love for your job doesn’t overtake into the third of your time you don’t talk about?

You Don't!

You can sleep when you’re dead. Life is what you make of it. What you make when you sleep is nothing. What you make when you’re awake is everything. Most people can feel well getting about 6 or 7 hours of sleep a night. If you enjoy what you do, give it all you can. If it is interfering with other priorities in your life then you need to review those priorities.

Obviously you don’t want your health to be impacted negatively by the way you perform your work. Get the sleep, nutrition, and exercise you need. Beyond that you should give work everything you’ve got, as long as you enjoy it.
