Cruised the Inside Passage to Alaska

on the MS Statendam (Holland America Line). This was my first cruise, and I would not hesitate to do it again.
Comments:
The Inside Passage
is an area I’d love to go and see, and by sea would really be the only way to do it. Aside from places like this, cruises don’t really appeal to me, maybe due to the homicide thing you mention in your other post. Glad to hear you enjoyed it! Can we expect some photos, maybe a quiz for geogeeks?

I didn’t expect to like the cruise as much as I did; I figured it would be mainly a way to get from place to place.

Inside Passage
I went on the ferry (poor man’s cruise!) and loved it too. Alaska is a place I never expected to love as much as I did being an urbanite and all but I had so many adventures there. It’s a place that takes you out of yourself if you let it.
I would have taken the ferry
if I had been on my own. The purpose of this trip was to take my father on a vacation, and he might be a bit limited in his mobility (it isn’t obvious watching him, but he does complain about it sometimes) so I wanted to make it as simple for him as possible.
Where else did you go in Alaska? What did you do there?
