It’s cheaper and when you get used to some basic techniques, it’s still convenient. My tip: get good with spices!

what’s your favorite non-processed thing you make?
Hmm. What’s my favorite? Probably lentils. So easy, so cheap, so versatile. I cook up a bunch of lentils at one time and then use them for different meals for days. I do the same thing with other beans. I make a lot of pretty good soups with whatever vegetables, grains, lentils or beans, and or meat if I have it. Oh, and some good spices/blends. Whatever I’m in the mood for. Sometimes cajun, sometimes, curry, sometimes lemon pepper, thai curry, chili pepper, you name it. I have gotten good enough at this that I can toss together a really tasty soup that’s ready in under ten minutes. Sheesh, that’s less time than some fast food orders. Plus it’s cheaper, tastier (I think) and I know what’s in it. I do eat some processed food though, for sure. No sense in denying yourself anything that makes your life saner.
