study the bible
Need a Bible mentor and time to meet weekly 17 months ago

Spiritual maturity is vital and without accountability I forget and let the days go by without growth in this area. Stagnant is not a choice. I need to find a weekly Bible study with a mentor who can help teach me. I plan to start this in September 2008.

Have you tried...

http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com they have free online Bible studies with mentors who have already completed the courses. Many of the studies are to overcome some sort of a besetting sin but, there are others on the armor of God & on the cross. You might check it out!

My church is very big on holding one another accountable. If SCF does not work for you I would be willing to do a study with you and we could hold eachother accountable. We could do it via email or phone which ever you prefer.

A good book to begin with (unless you’ve read it) would be ‘The Gospel According To Jesus’ by: Dr. John MacArthur http://www.gty.org

considering...

I’m in the process of finding a Bible study nearby…hopefully. Either way it would be great to hold each other accountable and to share what God is doing in our lives. Sounds GREAT!! I started a class at my church on “The New Eve” – it’s a study of the Biblical Woman and how we should be instead of measuring ourselves with the world’s standards. Any current studies you are experiencing?

I have not heard of that study (I will look into it). My ladies group is currently studying ‘Hard To Believe’ by: John MacArthur and we just finished an AWESOME study ‘With the Master in the School of Tested Faith’ by: Susan Heck. It is a word for word study through the book of James. That was one of the best studies I have ever done!
