see the musical Wicked
Saw it last night... 16 months ago

loved it, and decided to go again on Sunday…

Not something I’ve ever done before… (see something and immediately buy a ticket again…).

JudithKD We aren't giving up on things anymore?

I was at an sf convention a few years ago

and this guy, an artist, bought a lot of my cheap paperbacks for their cover art. I asked him his name. He said, “Doug Smith.” I didn’t recognize it and apologized, He smiled and said that he’d done the dust jacket for Wicked.

I got to tell him a story about an Ebay find RingotheScorpio got, where someone thought the dj was damaged as it had a hole in the center. He was amazed that someone didn’t know about cutaway dust jackets….

I’ve never read the book. I started collecting Oz books when I was in grade school. I’ve been sort of afraid to!

The book

I haven’t read the book yet either.

But I am on the reserve list from the library (60th in line at the moment).

And when I just went to check that, I saw that it says “illustrations by Douglas Smith”!

Friede is snuggling with the dog

A really

awesome book! A bit darker I suspect than the musical. But really thoughtful.

Cuz

Wicked is worth reading. I worried before reading it, but I took the plunge. Is there much we don;t have in common? BTW – Judy Garland & I share our birthday.
