Someone who knows me, could come up with better percentages … it seems like a third of the time I’m articulate; another third, I’m dramatically weaving a story, the point getting lost or forgotten; another third, speaking in “half-thoughts” ... or as you say leaving ”... big gaps that people can’t follow …”
when I was thinking “stay silent,” it was that maybe the thought is extraneous … doesn’t add anything to the conversation. also, if i’m having trouble formulating a thought, maybe it’s not the right time to convey it. maybe i need time to let go of the thought and let it purcolate subconsciously. then when i’m feeling articulate, speak it or write it down.
i’m not one to simply stay silent and never convey something.
usually all those thoughts running around in my brain are when i have trouble conveying. speaking/writing it would be a Jackson Pollack painting.
