I came across bottletrees on the net. I love blue glass and this would look great in my garden. I only have one blue bottle but I can explore and find more I’m sure. I can create an energy that will bring blue glass bottles to me.

I think I will keep this in the back of my mind.
I think that there are blue wine bottles that might work for this, except that all that keeps popping into my head right now is the old Phillips Milk of Magnesia Cobalt blue bottles that were always around the house when I was a kid.
Maybe I prefer the wine bottles

I might just make the bottletree with amber or green or a mix of every colour I can find. I’ve been looking for tree branches that look right, but right now all the trees are full of leaves and I don’t want to go cutting things down. I love trees. I’ll look for some old branches somewhere. I was thinking of finding a nice ceramic pot to set the bottletree in too. I can see it in my mind’s eye. I’ll send a photo when I get this project done. By the way I love your pug, I have a boxer who I love dearly and was thinking of getting him a playmate – a boston terrier or a PUG.

all day yesterday since I saw and responded to your post. I found myself perusing my back yard for the perfect place.
I had this idea that I might want to develop. In the pool area there is a flower bed which we always forget to water. Consequently nothing ever fares very well there. I had this thought about making a row of “bottle bushes” instead of an actual tree. I am thinking that it could be kind of fun and they wouldn’t require too much water.

I ran this idea (the row of bottle bushes) by my husband over the weekend while we were in the pool. He is good with it. I explained how you could buy metal bases etc hoping that he would say . . . “let me make some for you”, and he did!!!
Her loves to weld things . . . lucky me!!! I will post on this at some later date.

to do a little bit of welding. I’m not sure that she is all that crazy about it, but he got her to make something for me once. I have this odd shaped copper pot that I have a vine growing in. It needed a stand as it was starting to grow all over the porch, so I asked him for one and gave him some general specifications. He had luna_girl make it and paint it. It works really well. I am proud of her!!!
But not what I had in mind.

in her Senior Year in High School but she dropped it after a couple weeks. I think he was all jazzed about her becoming a welder as well . . . didn’t work out. What’s up with these lesbians anyway?
The plant stand was actually made from scraps that he had laying around the garage. I was pretty impressed with it and it remains functional to this day (as you can see from the photo)

I was just thinking about how I could rig up some kind of base for my bottletree this morning when I was walking my dog. One idea I had was to find a dead branch andset it in a large ceramic pot with cement or something – so I could display it on my deck. I like your idea! I need to find the branch and the bottles and then I’m set. It’s nice to have a goal isn’t it?

I found 4 nice bottles at Goodwill today. 2 green, 1 blue and 1 purple.
I thought that was a good start. My husband is not working tomorrow. I will see if he feels like working on this project. He might just want to veg though. We shall see.
