Find a house that I am truly happy in (read all 16 entries…)
Last week 16 months ago

I found a house online that really looked great and was very affordable. I immediately sent an e-mail, but had no response. So this Monday I drove past and saw people there – and thought damn, it’s sold. So I sent another e-mail about it, and today the owner responded saying that they were expecting an offer within the next 2 days, but if things fell through they’d contact me for a showing.

I hate to wish anyone to NOT get the house, but I think I want it. I’ll keep watching this listing, anyway…

Poor Eldest Daughter and her hubby keep putting in bids on houses in CA and losing out, too. We went through 3 houses with them, they tried to bid on the 2nd, and sure enough – were just too late. :(

I would imagine that this is happening all over

which would explain what keeps happening to your daughter and her husband. Sellers have begun typically listing at below market for short sale negotiations and reo foreclosure sales which is resulting in highest & best scenario offers (multiple offers on one property) or multiple counter offers by the lien holders.

There is plenty of inventory still available. Home prices are just beginning to stabilze and if all the inventory hit the market at the same time . . . prices would plummet further.

So much madness!!!

Fortunately,

my daughter and her fam found a nice house last spring and are very happy there. So at least the madness has stopped for them. :)
