change everything is getting her shizz together
So what I THOUGHT was a new jade sprout was actually a weed. I learned this as it grew into something not jade, even though the little sprout looked like jade.
So tonight I think, hey, I’ll just pull the weed out of there, toss my now dead jade, and put the spider plant which needs more room in there.
Turns out the jade had roots! now I probably killed it by yanking it out of the dirt. Hopefully not, though…he hasn’t really grown, but he was just a sprig when I first put him in there…so something certainly happened.
So…I moved the jade to a small pot I have. I put the spider plant in the jade pot (which is bigger than where the spider plant was living). Hopefully the spider plant will revive itself.
I watered the peace lily, which was embarrassingly dry. You’d think the peace lily would be good for me, because they are impossible to kill, but it’s actually horrible for me, because it stays alive even when I neglect it and thus reinforces my horrible plant caretaker habits.
The philodendron in tequila bottle is doing ok. Some of the ends got all black and crinkled up (no idea why…does it really need to be in dirt?)
All of this replanting was inspired today when I bought miracle-gro house plant spikes at the grocery store today. They were on clearance (and hard as a rock, I discovered, when I opened the package). But I gave spikes to the spider and the lily. I may bring the jade the work…I did look for a pot for the philodendron today and did not find one I liked.
Hang in there plants…I’m not trying to kill you on purpose…
So this goal is not yet dead…
