Who? 15 months ago

I watched Hillary Clinton’s speech last night at the convention. After they showed the video tribute and they introduced her she came out and prowled the stage like a cage tiger.

As she was doing this and every time she gives a speech she points to what looks like specific people and waves. Oddly, I saw her do this a few days ago when the arena was empty, just a few reporters up front.

Who the hell is she waving to? Is she actually waving to “someone” or does she just think it looks good on TV?

While I’m at it. She spoke about a woman she met while campaigning who was a single mother and had developed cancer. She said that this woman came to a rally and hugged her. That she had “Hillary” painted on her bald head. And asked Mrs. Clinton to work for health care for her and her children.

I’m I wrong in assuming that because she had cancer and she was bald that she was receiving health care, hair loss from the chemo?

I’m just wondering.

Was it just me

I will say this, its one of the best speeches I’ve seen her give. That’s to say I didn’t want to throw my TV off the roof after watching it.

Again, I’m sure this was just me but did you see Michelle Obama’s face when she was saying the quotes from Harriet Tubman?

I swear it looked like she leaned over and said something like…”are you f@cking kidding me?”

I agree

The Harriet Tubman bit was a little over the top.

Kay is back :]

This is why i felt a little weird while watching the speech. They use to go against each other and now one is going on a speech about how good the other one is.

In response to the original post...

Just because the woman is receiving health care, it doesn’t mean she’s receiving the best health care or that she’s not going broke having to pay what the insurance company won’t, or isn’t having to have fundraisers to help keep herself alive. I mean, a person with cancer in this country isn’t going to be denied care, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be a cheap or easy process. Someone with more money is going to have a better chance of survival in the U.S. than someone without. It’s just a fact. Our healthcare system needs to be overhauled so that everyone is entitled to the same quality care, in my opinion.

So

Your saying its not fair?

re. the woman with cancer

She may have gotten treatment through a federally- and state-funded program for cancer treatment for poor women, but those programs are not perfect and are constantly under siege politically.

Or she could’ve paid out of pocket, which would be very steep.

Some are lucky enough to get treatment provided by the drug companies, out of the goodness of their hearts.

RP is swimming through paper.

I think

that the woman with cancer was not the person whose health care was in question. I think it had to do with her two adopted kids who had autism who weren’t getting any health care (and then she got cancer on top of that).

At least, that is what I remember.
