I'm not sure how to answer this, exactly.

There are a lot of fast food places around here to eat at, that’s a good thing as far as I’m concerned.

And it gives people a chance to earn some money that are probably unemployable in any other venue. It would be nice if people that deal with the public, though, actually spoke English, or had and accents thin enough to understand thru that fucking speaker.

Still, I love saturated fat and cholesterol!

God bless fast food!!

x's per week...

My husband eats fast food 4 times a week and his favorite is Taco Bell. I don’t eat fast food. I finally read Fast Food Nation this summer and I am really glad I don’t eat fast food. Good luck with your assignment! Sorry I am answering this question in the wrong place! To answer these new questions… In our small Texas panhandle town fast food chains have had an impact. We still have some small locally owned fast food places but the national chains have cut into their business. I don’t have any personal fast food stories, I have never really eaten fast food, even growing up. My mother didn’t approve and I guess she passed that along to me. I think the poor quality of this stuff and the way they have changed the way this country eats are certainly worthy of discussion. How did we measure the success of a town and a good economy before it was measured in fast food restaurants and constant development?

How would you say fastfood has effected your area or society?
Living in a metro area, its easier to pick food up quickly, helping out the busy people. But along the same lines fast food has helped with the obseity problems here. I find that part rather sad.

Anyone have any fast-food related stories? Nothing of real interest.

lulubell got married :)

How would you say fastfood has effected your area or society? I don’t have a huge opinion on this, I guess just that it makes it easier for people to eat food that isn’t necessarily good for them more often.
Anyone have any fast-food related stories? Not that I can think of.
Any closing thoughts, insights or ideas on the topic? A TenderCrisp Chicken Sandwich meal from BK contains 1 1/2 times the amount of calories I should consume in a day. That’s why I try to avoid fast food.

I don’t think I eat a huge amount of fast food, I’m not always sure what qualifies as fast food anyway. I like pizza but I prefer a restaurant, like Ask for example, to Pizza Hut (although I do like Pizza Hut), but I haven’t eaten McDonalds for ages, nor Burger King, and I don’t have KFC because I’m vegetarian (apart from chips maybe if my family was getting chicken from there). Fast food is popular though, so I guess that’s why there is a lot of it. I don’t know if that answers any of the questions or not, I guess that’s just my thoughts on it. Of course we should all eat food that is better for us, though. Plus, if we do eat fast food, it shouldn’t really be all the time, naturally.

Deni H is juggling a lot of balls right now.

How would you say fastfood has effected your area or society?
I personally think that its effect has been detrimental. Many people will get it (including myself at times when I’m being less than thoughtful) just because it’s quick and available. Fast food never satisfies my needs, and I just end up needing a snack later on. So, I think that it probably has done a lot of damage to our nutritional and health needs. (I won’t go as far as to say that people are forced into making the choice for fast food, because things are always a choice.)

Anyone have any fast-food related stories?
If you’ve ever seen “Supersize Me” I will never forget the special video section on the DVD that was about their French fries. I think it was titled “The Smoking Fry.” I still get cravings from time to time for fries (not for McDonald’s, thought), but more times than not, they just don’t taste good any more.

Any closing thoughts, insights or ideas on the topic?
I’ve started eating less fast food, because most of the chains are now charging almost as much as a sit-down chain restaurant for meals. I’ve also started eating less because I realize how “nutrient-deficient” it really is after doing some research into it.

How would you say fastfood has effected your area or society? I live in a small town, but we have lots of different fast food places. Not the healthiest options, but it’s cheap and fast.

All the places also provide jobs and that is a good thing when there aren’t that many jobs available in the area.

Anyone have any fast-food related stories? Not really.

Any closing thoughts, insights or ideas on the topic? Fast Food Nation was my summer read book for my freshman year of college. I had to write two papers on it. The first just my general opinion of the book and the second was about people suing fast food companies for making them fat or just bitching about it. It’s ridiculous. If you choose to eat a lot of fast food, are overweight and unhealthy because of it, there is no one to blame but yourself.
