My 10-year high school reunion was hilarious. I went to a prep school and I didn’t like most of my classmates, but the ones I did want to see were there, and it was wonderful to catch up with them. As for all the beautiful people who made fun of me in elementary school for playing with insects and being genetically tennis-impaired, they were fascinating to look at. Some were still beautiful, some a little worse for the wear, some had really grown up and become interesting people. Some had stayed pretty much the same. I searched deep within myself and found that all my supposed emotional scarring from the machinations of these careless golden children just didn’t exist anymore. We do grow up, we do change, and things do get better. And hey, everyone was 3 sheets to the wind, so what the hell.
