I think I have convinced my husband that building a new home will cost just as much as buying an existing house. I talked to my grandmother about it and she gave me some layouts, price ranges, and what to expect, because her and my grandfather were going to build a house about a year ago (they ended up buying one instead). It sounds like somthing we can afford and somthing that is much more appealing to me becuase I can customize it the way I want it. I started thinking about buying the property now so that it can be paid for by the time we want to build.
