i got a half-bag of chili candy from one of my students today. the thing is, i thought the kid didn’t even like me.

he missed school on tuesday because he was in mexico. i asked him if he brought back any candy (because the mexican candy is SUPER popular at the junior high i work at). he said he did, and i asked if he’d bring me a piece. i got a whole half bag today!! and this is a kid who refuses to say my name right on purpose(kEEEple instead of kep-pull) so i call him Jime (like dime) instead of jaime (hymee) because he spelled it “Jime” on his name-card the first day of school (JH kids are sooo absent-minded. so, i guess i have this kid on my side :)
