This is not necessarily in any order, and maybe some people will not agree but Coco Chanel (whose story I learned from a Lifetime movie lol) is an amazing role model to little girls. I think that she would be horrified if she saw what Chanel as turned into these days. What now is an over-priced empire, was once a woman who sewed everything she sold with her own hands, and a woman whose goal was to make clothes that were comfortable and affordable for women. She was making a statement that woman should no longer dress to please their men, and instead dress to be comfortable and to express themselves instead of what was, at the time, the latest fashion. How ironic. She also should be looked up to for how she conducted herself in relationships with men. Her first love was a man that would not marry her, and basically used her as entertainment, as he did other women. She left him, even though she had nothing and no where to go. Then, she met the love of her life. He was a man that actually respected her, yet she would not, at first, be in a relationship with him because she didn’t want to find herself in another situation where she was dependent on a man. Once she had established herself she did end up with the man and they were very happy, although their relationship ended when the man died tragically in a car accident. Despite many challenges, Chanel built her empire from the ground up, and without ever losing her integrity. Chanel has become what it is today when Coco Chanel died in the 70’s.
