learn to ride a motorcycle
It's perennial.

I have wanted to do this for a long time. Everyone says ‘You’re a mother! Think of the children! You CAN’T DO THAT!”

A is likely to sell his bike this year. It’s too big for me, but oh, what a temptation.

get a bike that is a size that you are comfortable with

Yes. Think of the children! the other kids in school will think that you are the coolest mother in the world!

There are plently of grizzly old bikers around. I see that as a good sign, meaning that you don’t automatically die young if you ride a motorcycle.

Back to the size of the bike. Don’t get one that feels too big for you, though make sure you sit on a number of them so you can judge what is too big, and what your preferred riding position is. Take safety courses, where the bikes are glorified lawnmowers of 125 and 250cc’s (probably Rebels). You will know if they feel too small, and you need something bigger. What kind of bike is your friend’s?

I know someone who was in your position, she bought a friend’s bike because it was offered and she wanted a bike (it was a 500cc, but too tall for her, and made in the late 80’s so it was all heavy steel), and it just sat in her garage for over a year because she was too frightened to ride it. Don’t let this happen!! Bikes should be ridden. They like it. It’s their purpose.

I have ridden for a year, and love it love it love it.

Do it! This is a “living life passionately” thing.
