milky_twilight Merry Christmas to all of you :)

improve my Russian
I learned Russian 15 months ago

in school for 10 years but now I can barely speak the language. When I was in Russia some of the learned stuff came back, but I didn’t dare to speak Russian. I tried to improve it few years ago in a seminar at the university, but I didn’t enjoy it. Now I have to think about another way to get better in Russian.

why do you want to speak russian?

?

milky_twilight Merry Christmas to all of you :)

What a question!

Of course I want to speek russian to understand the people when I visit russia. I was in many different parts of Russia and I loved it. Its a beautiful but also rough country with very friendly people. And I’m feeling connected to Russia because of my own history.

And I think – it is always a good idea to learn and speak a foreign language, good for your mind, soul and heart.

Well...

This language is very difficult to learn. But you’ve said you have your
own history connected to Russia? Are your relatives Russian?

milky_twilight Merry Christmas to all of you :)

its not a exciting story =)

No, I don’t have relatives in Russia (my boyfreind has, but they aren’t very close, I think.) And yes, the word history was a little bit to much. But I had to spend 10 !!! years in studying this language. Every day for one hour, five times a week. arrrggghh. And in one year the russian lessons started at 7 am, puh!
And you are right-it is very difficult to learn and speek russian, not only because of their terrible grammar.

Thats the “history” :) – I had to learn in the school, and now I only want that this torture was not useless for me =)

Did you study it in your school?

But why did you learn Russian in your school? Honestly I don’t think you’ll have progress with one-hour classes everyday. This language is really difficult, you need listening of russian music, watching russian movies, reading fo russian books, and of course speaking practise with native speakers.
Actually, I didn’t think this language is very useful. Maybe you have some ideas about Russia? Or maybe your school prepared spies for this country?:)

milky_twilight Merry Christmas to all of you :)

kind of =)

In the middle of the eighties, the time of my school days, it was a very, very usefull language. I grown up in the eastern part of Europe and there you didn’t had a choice- the first language you had to learn in the school was Russian. And after you finished the school and wanted to have a good carrier you should study in Moscow or somewhere else in Russia. Yes, a lot of things changed in between. But Russia has a lot of power and influence until now I think. And I like the country. And the main reason for me to finish this goal is that I had a really hard time by learning the language. If I don’t use and improve it, then all of my efforts in the past were for nothing.
