I’ve been teaching myself Cold As You by Taylor Swift. I’ve got the chords pretty much down, now I’m just practicing moving from chord to chord quickly.

I’m exactly where you are right now. All my life I have been the one in the family who can’t play something. 3 weeks ago at my Dad’s band I jokingly say I couldn’t play because no one had ever given me a guitar…. hmmm…
So I probably shouldn’t have been surprised when just before I went back to uni, I get really nice guitar… and blackmail that I better be able to play it when I get back. I’ve been teaching myself with youtube and various chords.
Only thing I can say is, that it definitely gets easier when you practice… but yeah I’ve still pretty limited.
Keep going, and if you have any ideas for easy songs please share them :) I need as many as I can get :)

Hey that’s awesome!! Everyone I know has taken lessons to learn the guitar. Although I do want to eventually take them, I’m determined to learn the basics on my own!! Youtube is pretty helpful hey :P
Someone else recommended songsterr.com to me. I’m not sure if you’ve seen it, but it’s a pretty good site. They changed it though in the last few weeks, and now it’s REALLY confusing to understand lol. But they lay out their songs from easy – hard so you could check that out for some ideas on easy songs!! Good luck with the rest of your learning!!! :D
