Georgina47 Goal Purge!
So counters got installed today. Looks great! Except for a small chip right on the seam….Unfortunately because it’s black granite without much veining and it’s right by a window, you can see it. I didn’t know what to do. They would have to haul out the ginormous piece with the bar on it and cut it out and bring it back and take the whole piece next to it away too (that the sink is now in) to match up the seam. Pain. But apparently I have up to a year warranty on installation and I wrote a note on my approval explaining it was contingent upon the chip and saying I wasn’t sure yet if I could live with it.
In other drama, my painter called after I gave him a “C” on Angies List. (Long story!) One of my issues is that he priced it by the day and said it would probably take 4-5 days (sanding cabinets/2coats primer/2coats paint on cabinets and prep and paint rest of room.) And then the contractor’s worker only worked 3 days and was NOT detail-oriented including painting over an outlet cover and sticking the refrigerator plug back in so it dried there and leaving paint in the utility sink so it dried and my washing machine overflowed. So the contractor calls and says he’ll give me $300 bucks back if I change the report, so I said I’d take out the part about the unfairness in pricing but I wouldn’t remove the rest.
UGH! This is one time it’d be nice to have a man to wrangle with all of these people. sigh But it’s making me stronger!
