Get a digital SLR camera
next level

that’s right, take it to the next level. i’ve been through the digital point-and-shoot, i’ve experienced the god-like quality that is nikon macro’s and i’m ready for the next big step.

although, i must admit, a bulkier camera is going to be even harder to carry around. this is one of my problem’s already.

catch 22, i tell ya.

Comments:

I recently bought the Nikon D70, and it rocks! But you’re 100% right about it being harder to carry around. You totally lose the convenience of a point-and-shoot that you can just pull out of your pocket. When I bought my Nikon, I sold my Canon S50, but I think the trick is to have both, so that you still have the convenience of the point-and-shoot when the Nikon isn’t convenient to carry around.

found this out again this past weekend.

how’s the d70 compared to the digital rebel with regards to actually shooting (i.e. non tech specs)?

The digital rebel feels like a cheap toy. The body is really cheap plastic, and feels like it was made by Hasbro or something. That was the only non-spec thing I didn’t like about it. From what i hear, the new eos 20D is the dogs danglies though! but D70 vs. DigiReb goes to the D70, no contest.
