Now that was a tough one!!!!
So now I’m finally enjoying the pristine coupling og iTunes and iPod – a match made in heaven – BUT… it’s actually my 4th iPod, and here goes:
- Got the 4th Generation iPod 20GB Color (present)
- Hooked up to PC – iPod Updater wants to PC format, which (of course – that’s Murphy’s Law) fails, ending with a “Disk write error”
- iPod now shows me the URL to Apple’s iPod support site (neat feature, actually)
- On the site I go through EVERYTHING to try fixing it, but to no avail.
- Support ticket creation and waiting for UPS to arrive with an empty box for sending the poor thing to service.
- Waiting – now the short version(s):
- The iPod I get back from repair won’t turn on because the clickwheel doesn’t respond. Further more the battery looses power alarmingly fast.
- More waiting for UPS
- 3rd iPod arrives – I actually manage to get music from iTunes onto the iPod and listen to some of it. But the battery can’t hold a full charge overnight – I have to set the Date & time every day, so…
- UPS…
- 4th iPod arrives and it’s all OK. Thank you!
