Promote Body Acceptance (read all 11 entries…)
The Century Project 14 months ago

The Century Project, by photographer Frank Cordelle, is a chronological series of nude photographic portraits of more than one hundred women and girls from the moment of birth to nearly a hundred years of age. A diverse group of photographs comprising women of many ages, shapes, sizes, and life experiences is presented in this exquisitely disarming project. Most of the images are accompanied by moving statements written by the women themselves.

The Century Project in its entirety consists of an exhibit, a newly published book titled Bodies and Souls: The Century Project, and this website

No, not all..... I welcome seeing info pertaining to men on the subject as well....

It just seems that women struggle with this more in western culture, or at least the media focuses more on their struggles with this issue than with those of men. But of course, it’s an issue for men as well. And when I speak of body acceptance, I mean for all people.

And thank you! :-) Without being too immodest I can tell you it’s gotten more cheers than any of my other goals, and with the exception of a birthday goal I had for Julie Jordan Scott, it’s been the most adopted goal, I’ve came up with.

Laurie Toby Edison also did a book called Women En Large. I think I posted about that once before.

It is both media and culturally induced.

I’ve ran into that “hone my curves” goal a few times.

I just looked up “hone” in an online dictionary. It makes the goal rather ambigious if you read all the definitions. I don’t think I’ve seen any enteries on that goal, that even had to do with women’s curves(???)

I’d love to see the pix you took. :-)

TangerineRose celebrates 2yrs of 43Things :)

honour my curves,

I love it! Great call, KM.
Although I have great respect for everyone’s personal goals on 43T, I feel it’s a bit of a shame when I read someone wants to lose weight as they think they are too fat (and then they list their weight, and it’s the same as mine!)
Although it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I happened to lose a kilo or 2, I think I look more than good enough to prance around in a bikini right now. In my world, it’s my vow to Rock What I’ve Got!

I agree

I’ve seen some of your pix, and I think you look wonderful :-)

Also, if you really like the way you look, why not celebrate that. :-)
