Brandee My baby's 2 months old! Time sure flies when you're having fun!

Sorry I’ve been MIA for a while. You know better than anybody how much of a full time job babies are! I’m glad you got my post card. My daughter and I are now living in Utah while my husband is in Iraq. It’s cold!! How are things going with your son?

full time job indeed!

i am so glad to hear from you! Naeem has been such an amazing journey! every day he changes, grows, and every day he goes through waves of looking like me and looking like his father! so no one can figure it out yet! i think when he’s chubbier he looks like me. and when he has a growth spurt and his face narrows our a bit, he looks like daddy. that’s my theory. he’s just so absolutely amazing! i can’t get over him… i look at him and i can’t stop thanking God nor can i believe my eyes. i stare at him and i’m like, who’s baby is that? MINE?! OMG!!!! hahahaha… i can’t wrap my head around it! i can’t stop touching him and kissing him and nibbling on him all in efforts to really believe he is here! hah! i knew he would win my heart like no one else on this planet could, but i knew i wouldn’t be able to understand to which degree until i felt it. i am so painfully in love!!

well, perhaps i’m an internet addict, but i’ve learned to breastfeed and hang out online still. i was even so dedicated as to write a couple of posts during my labor on 43things letting people know how many cm’s dialated, i was! haha! but i have friends all over the place and its easier to keep in touch via the net. but yeah, my favorite tool is the boppy pillow. with that, i can sit and feed him comfortably just about anywhere! and i’m learning to type faster with one hand! and my homebirth went BEAUTIFULLY! it was a rough labor, 24 hours of crazy contractions, no sleep, little to eat, and then just before midnight i was finally dialated and ready to push but i was so exhausted! so it took another 2 hours to push him out. but we did it!!! and my midwife was the best!! AND i’ve done mighty fine for myself after labor, too! in 6 weeks i lost ALL my baby weight. WOOHOO! i wasn’t even trying. i just kept shrinking. running around with the baby and breastfeeding sure helped a lot, i’m sure. and for now i’m on a pretty strict diet cuz my baby has been getting rashes in response to a lot of the food i used to eat. i’m DYING for a milkshake!!!

and so, what about you?! how’s your daughter? it must be so rough having your husband in Iraq at a time like this. i imagine its never easy, but i don’t know what i’d do if my husband weren’t around. do you at least have family/friends coming to help out whenever they can? how was your delivery? and how are you post-delivery???? hope you are well, happy, and as rested as can be!!!
