Another economic study

CIRANO runs economic and other types of studies on an somewhat irregular basis. They do invitations by

email every so often and offer a couple of scheduling options which usually fit into my schedule and their office is right by work, so it’s great to do after a night shift.

They guarantee 10$ just for showing up for two or less hours and an “average of 20$ depending on your choices.” They’re generally fun experiments, depending on your skills, luck and other people’s choices. I’ve done stuff like:

-Watching news clips and evaluating if they were positive or negative
-Putting up bids for building fake computers vs other users and based on variable costs
-Based on probablities and odds, choosing which set of odds(safe vs risky) you would bet on ( This was the one I made the most at for the least amount of time: 20 minutes)
-Correcting french texts (This was the one I HATED the most)
-Voting
-Data entry

But most of the time I just bring a book, push a key on a computer every so often and read my book the rest of the time.

So it’s a nice little snowflake here and there.

So I signed up for a study on Tuesday :)

PS: If you’re in Montreal and you’d like to sign up, please let me know and I’ll send you the link.
