Finish my PhD (read all 12 entries…)
Done!

More than 2 months after I resubmited my PhD thesis I recieved THE letter I have been waiting for for more than 2 years.

I am done! It was not a fun part of my life. I dont recommed anyone doing it. If you are already doing it I would be happy to help you.

I will write a bit more another day… once I understand what this means.

All the best to you all. Thank you for your support over the last many many months.

LilySue is job hunting!

Yea!

Congrats!!! I am so happy for you! That is such wonderful news that you have finished…it gives me hope.

Did your eyelids ever stop twitching??!! I’m turning into a freak show! :)

Yes

my eyelids have stopped twitching… for the most part. To be honest the left eye lid still twitches sometimes (when I am stressed or very tired).

take care and good luck

xsaturnine is ready to start over.

congrats!

that’s an extremely admirable achievement. good for you. =]

Thank you

It was a long and very bumpy round. All that is left to do now is to read it one more time, print, bind, and go the ceremony to pick up my little piece of paper… that I worked so hard for.

Congrats!

How awesome! Thanks so much for sharing your high and low points, I have also been having a long and bumpy road with my Phd. Hearing that you managed to hang in there is fantastic.

Thank you

It was indeed a really bumpy road. Many times I felt like I could not go on. Even now, I dont think I have realised that I have done it. I still have not told most people… have not thanked almost anyone. Its like I am wainting for something bad to happen… That is what happend the last times I thought I was done: someone decided that the goal line should be put a little bit further back. Hopefully this will not happen this time and by mid December I will have the PhD certificate in my hand. Cant waint.

Thank you for the comment.

If I could do it anyone can do it.

Good luck!

What was your thesis about? Congrats on completing this milestone, it’s one which yet lies ahead of me.

Life Sciences

Hi Phoenix, thanks for the message. I did my PhD in life sciences (sorry, cant give more detail here for obvious reasons – who knows who is reading this and what they can do… “strong the dark side is…”)

What your PhD on?

Regardless of the topic I think the trick is to have the right advice and good communication with your peers. Good luck.

I’m also working in the life sciences – generating a mutant knock in mouse model, our lab works in cell signalling pathways. Currently screening ES cells, it’s not going too great :-/
