buy a digital camera (read all 3 entries…)
Canon EOS Rebel XSi 14 months ago

I just bought this a little over a month ago. I think I got a good deal, since it was bundled with a telephoto lens in addition to the kit lens. I love it. I still use my S80 from time to time, but it just doesn’t match my XSi.

Test 1: Camera Swag

I am still learning how to use it. I can’t take a shot without IS to save my life, not yet anyway. I want to take pictures as a hobby, so I am open to learning. Any photographers want to give me advice? I am very open to it.

Check out my Photostream and leave some comments, criticism… when you get a chance.

Experiment with this

My wife has this same camera. She loves it. Since everything is digital, just take it out and start snapping photos. There is no film to waste, so you can take as many photos as you want to learn what you like.

My only advice, put everything in auto mode, frame your subject to the middle of the photo, let the camera focus, then snap the picture.

If you like it, save it. If not, delete it.

And have fun.

Auto mode

Part of my decision to upgrade from my S80 was to stop shooting auto. The XSi gives me an abundance of options, which of course I like.

If you check out my Photostream you will see I am not doing too bad in manual. I just want to get better. :)

Pretty Good

I did check out your Photostream and you are looking good. Looks like you are getting the hand at close ups, varying the focal length on close ups and portraits. The photos around the city were interesting also.

Have you tried some action photos yet? You can get some good effects there.

Keep it up. You have some talent here.

Thank You Much

I sincerely appreciate that.
