Beat my depression
Untitled

I’ve been diagnosed with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). Being in a family with a sister with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) life is really tough. I’m overweight because of my depression and I really want to lose weight. However because of my sister’s mental illness/bulimia, it makes it difficult. I need to figure a way to do this the healthy way and without her knowing because it’ll make her feel like she’s fat herself.

Anyway, I just went to see the doctor today. I’m going to be trying a few new things to beat my depression. I’m trying a new medication since the last one didn’t work. I am also going to try out light therapy. I was able to get a doctor’s note saying that he recommends it, so hopefully my insurance will help pay for the light box. If not, I’ll have to think up some alternatives.

I will be pondering on this some more. I’ll update in a few weeks once the new medication begins kicking in.

zeroid trying my best

First of all, at least in the picture you posted, you don’t look too overweight. But you are right, depression can affect a person’s weight, so just be aware.
When it comes to meds, sadly, it,s not an exact science. Doctors can only make educated guesses based on knowledge and experience. The important thing is to maintain a constant report with the doctor, so he can adjust accordingly. Best of luck
