I'm still not sure what is going on with my daughter... 13 months ago

The injections we’re giving her are a hormone/steroid thing.; we’ll give her the full dose for a certain period of time, then we’ll wean her off, with the idea that her body should take over production of the hormone.

Well, she has been on the medicine for about three weeks or so and she’s got an EEG scheduled for next week. I think that should be fascinating – she can suddenly walk better, squeal with joy, smile, hold a sippy cup…

wow

i hope her eeg looks better, but it sounds like she is doing better. must be a tough little kid.

Thanks...

the EEG was better, but still abnormal. They are going to leave her on the full dosage for another two weeks, then do another EEG and start weaning her off the medicine.

She’s a sweetie, and apparently a very determined little girl!

Catching Up

As I caught up on your daughters story and your amazing courage and strength that you no doubt transfer to her I began to smile and feel real joy to “hear” of her great progress.

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.

Thank you for that!

I feel, some days, like such a failure as a parent. Intellectually, I know that I really can’t take the blame for all of her issues – or those of her brother, but try telling that to your heart.

Anyway, I’m trying to shift my focus from me to her – I DO know that I can help and that helping her may very well help me.

She’s such a sweetie, so happy now. She squeals and giggles like babies SHOULD do. I swear, I will tickle her every night before bed to hear the giggles just because that is such a FANTASTIC sound to hear. I don’t care if I’m stirring her up a bit; joy is contagious.
