figure out what I truly want in life
What do I want out of life? 14 months ago

One day, I took an index card and wrote down what I’d like to do with 60 years… This is what I wrote…

Novelty – new experiences & new food. Fun – thrill seeking of all sorts (I want to be scared, feel my tummy churn, etc.) Contribute – to our earth and little society in many ways Respect – people and the environment (we can overcome all obstales. change is inevitable (e.g. extinctions) but I can stilll do my part and mantain my integrity, widen – my world view and adopt different perspectives through which to see the world (like how my european history class changed my world view as well as perception of history)

On the back…

Explore – territories (e.g. national parks, mountains, cities/towns)

Travel

Adventure

Variety

Good Friends

Intimacy

Apprecation
(& records of it all)

Risks

Being Assertive

Simplicity (home) Clarity (mind) Health (body)

Explore more (spiritual things, oneness with everything)

--- subcatagories ---

I think its really great that you are doing that. I ended up taking my major goals and setting up subgoals. 43things doesn’t have a way to do that, so I copied someone elses notation. So you might have —Adventure—and then make the goals under it. Like —Health -- and then under it Dance Everyday. I learned alot from doing this. When I tried to put the main goals in a priority list, I had to make choices. I also had to figure out how my existing goals fit into each one, like realizing that finding Ru’s soda bottle is in my Family subcatagorie because she is my universal sister in fun. I also noticed that I didn’t have as much in some areas, or I didn’t have a goal that I should, like nothing under my family that specifically matches my kids. Defining the major catagories can be based on your own priorities or you can look at general wellness or spiritual systems, like the Native American medicine wheel for example. I think the major goals are really reflective of our true selves.

Gavet has gotten 3 cheers on this entry.
