California's Proposition 8 is Wrong and Bigoted 14 months ago

California just voted in the election to overturn a Supreme Court decision and outlaw gay marriage. And these people are responsible: http://www.protectmarriage.com/contact. I think they’re bigoted, small-minded, deluded people, especially in an election which has been so much about transcending historical prejudice and bigotry. Use the link and let them know what you think about them if you agree. It would be good for them to hear that people think differently about the issue than they do. I already let them know what I think.

I agree that prop 8 is a big mistake

The people who funded it are the major culprits.

the people who voted for it are misled, were duped, whatever. It makes me feel very bad.

But for me, blame is not an answer. Education, raising the consciousness of those around us is the answer. Living in light is the answer.

We will get there – it is going to be a long road.

angry and sad as I am, blame isn’t the way to go. Blame can be satisfying, but in the end it is wasted energy.

If you really want to help, I suggest you go to http://www.MarriageEquality.org and join. Join and donate and keep up with their mailings. Support the organized effort to make this change. Be ready when action happens in your state.

Simply going off at folks isn’t going to make change. Joining with others who share your vision will in the end be a lot more satisfying.
