Get 43 people to donate $5 to my cousins Movember effort
Hello! 13 months ago

Best wishes to your cousin.

I donated now. I rationalized it as follows, “I really want to donate and I find that all the causes are worthwhile. I don’t have enough money now. What do I do?
I thought a bit.. if I am super organized and go get my salad veggies and make my own salad, I can donate this money”.

So. .now I better get organized and go shop for my veggies and not go out to eat salad :)

thanks so much for the donation – and for making your own salad for a day! Really appreciate the contribution.

You are welcome!

I have to make salads for a few days, but I really should do it anyways. This way, I can feel good about helping , even if in a very small way.

Wow – thanks again ooty! It was really nice of you to do that so you could donate :)

I feel silly. I didn’t mean to make it sound like a big deal.

It was a pleasure to do it.

( I was feeling really guilty throwing all the charity envelopes that I was getting in the mail into the trash because money is bit tight now).

I know excatly what you mean

about all the charity envelopes. Money has been a bit tight for me too and I haven’t been giving anything. I’m trying to get started again by giving something every month, even if it is a very small amount (this is my first month!). I read an interesting article awhile ago about someone who put aside a couple of dollars a week and donated something like $10 a month to charity, and then got all his friends to do the same. His whole point being that if you give small and regularly then it’s better than having good intentions to donate larger sums but then never doing it. I thought it made a lot of sense.

ooty has gotten 11 cheers on this entry.
