I met Mel Gibson years ago at the premier of ‘Hamlet’ in Brisbane, Australia. It was a thrill at the time, but really famous people are just people, and putting them on a pedestal makes life difficult for them, because they feel they can’t just BE themselves. I like to see everyone as my equal – no better, and no worse than myself.
