complete my certification for teaching (read all 16 entries…)

One huge step closer... 12 months ago

I just found out today that I passed my Subject Area exam! I’m so happy! So that should leave the following before I’m fully eligible for certification:

Take and pass the FTCE Professional Ed exam.
Take and pass the General Knowledge exam.
Complete 2 more classes, including field experience (I took off a couple months, and will start back in January).
Be hired as a full-time teacher! :)

Not too shabby! We can do this! :)

It feels good to stretch myself into this new career. I’m excited when I think about teaching my own class. I hope I’ll be able to inspire a passion for learning in each of my students, as well as respect for others. It’s such an important job!
