Ride to all stops of all the Chicago "L" lines (read all 3 entries…)
75 down, 67 to go 12 months ago

I wanted to figure out a way to help the other 50 people who have this goal of riding to all the CTA stations. First I downloaded the image at http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/rail/rail.html and marked off the stations. Which is kinda nice to see it visually on a map. But it’s kind of a pain to count all the X’s by hand. So I made a list of all the stations. Feel free to copy this list and use it on your entries. (I had to put a period after every station to prevent the cross-throughs from getting all wonky).

I’ve gone to 75 of the CTA’s 142 stations. That means there are a whopping 67 to go! I couldn’t believe that I only have 52% done!

wembleyheads is all sorts of googly-eyed :D

This is wonderful!

I love this list. I love thinking about each stop and what is in that area. It’s very visual. And nostalgic. I am coming to visit in 2 weeks so that makes me even more excited! YAY!

sipes23 is, like usual, rocking the suburbs.

Wow. Here I thought this just meant being on the train when it went through the station.

I salute you.

That said, this project has gotten me off of the el in more places than I had thought I would. It has, so to speak, expanded my Chicago. My most recent visit (with little girl and truck, not the el) was to the Conservatory stop on the Green Line. I would have never made it had I not rolled by on my tour of the Green Line.

Matt Maldre has gotten 6 cheers on this entry.
