Save money (read all 62 entries…)
$8,000 to $800

Since June, I’ve spent basically all of my money that I saved. It took 5 months to save $8,000(birthday money, tax returns, savings from paychecks, second job tips and checks, etc), and it took just about the same time to spend it all. Damn my life. I’m not even an impulsive shopper, most of it was stuff that I really needed.

I have a goal again. I want to drive up to PA next summer and live there for a few months of so, even get a job there probably. It’s going to be exciting as hell, and hopefully it will aid my soul-searching journey.

So from now on, no superfluous expenditures. I’m going to keep a “I spent __” diary, much like a food diary. Fun fun!

Easy go

It comes, it goes. I’m am a superfluous (thank you, spell checker!) expense. When I think of how much money I’ve blown on ridiculous things, my mind boggles. Oh well, much better. I should pick a target. I’m up to about 4K, after expenses.

Good luck!

Oh so hard...

I use to have a completely different mentality about saving money before I got out of high school.

But between signing student loans for an education—I didn’t work hard enough to get scholarships, and managing real life expenditures for the first time… I have fell straight on my face on handling these potential lessons.

I think I’m going to think up some simple habits to trick myself into doing.. so I can reward myself for a trip to York, an idea i’m just not copycating. The carrot in front of the face is a good psychy for this kind of problem I think.

I use to be so discipline, but the many expectations and desires that come along with college can be quite overwhelming.

Things I recommend to all and hopefully I’ll follow myself:

Re-renting the movie: Into the Wild

sends a strong message about thinking about how we let society bend us backwards.

Next Advice: I want to find a book that supports a Philosophy riding against the norm to buy into materialistic norms. If you have any advice fill me in. Ty.

Btw, the book I found is based on the concept of Alfuenza.

here’s link.. should be able to ship a used one for not more than 12 dollars.
